Mr. Pandé has over thirty years experience in the field of banking in Nepal with both the public and private sectors. After obtaining a degree in Chartered Accountancy from India in 1978, he worked at various departments of Nepal Rastra Bank (Central Bank of Nepal) till 1990, during which time, he was seconded to the IMF head-office in Washington for two years. In 1990, he was appointed General Manager of Rastriya Banijya Bank – the largest commercial bank in Nepal. After financial liberalization started in 1994, Mr. Pandé established Himalayan Bank, a private sector commercial bank in Nepal and a joint venture with Habib Bank. He served as a stakeholder and Executive Director for a period of 10 years propelling it to the top tier of Nepali banks. In 2001, leading a diverse private equity group, he took on management responsibilities from the Credit Agricole Group of Nepal Indosuez Bank to manage Nepal Investment Bank which has resulted in the Bank’s remarkable growth in capital, assets and profit.
